Liver Diseases

Endoscopy

An endoscopy is a test to look inside your body. A long, thin tube with a small camera inside, called an endoscope, is passed into your body through a natural opening such as your mouth. Your GP may refer you for an endoscopy if you’re having certain symptoms.

The gastrointestinal system includes the mouth, pharynx (throat), esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum, and anus. It also includes the salivary glands, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas, which make digestive juices and enzymes that help the body digest food and liquids.

Extensive experience in the managing children with gastrointestinal and liver conditions. Overall, 13 years experience in pedialtric Gastroenterology. First Pediatric gastroenterologist from Karnataka to complete DM in pediatric gastroenterology. Special interest in therapeutic endoscopy, inflammatory bowel disorders, chronic liver disease and liver transplant. Have done over 2000 pediatric endoscopies in children including pre-term babies.

Along with clinical work involved in teaching to medical students at medical colleges and hospitals. Engaged in National treatment guidelines, teaching modules and text book chapters. Involved as Faculty in multiple forums, CMEs, regional and national conferences.
